About The Kenan-Flagler Investment Banking Deal
What is The Kenan-Flagler Investment Banking Deal?
The Kenan-Flagler Investment Banking Deal at the University of North Carolina’s Kenan-Flagler Business School (“The KFIBD”) is a student-run subsidiary of the UNC Undergraduate Finance Society. The KFIBD provides case competitors (i.e. "Student Analysts") the opportunity for unique insight into the role of an investment banking analyst via a simulated M&A transaction.
Student applicants that pass the application and interview process are distributed among competing deal teams in a simulated M&A investment banking deal judged by representatives from top investment banking firms. The competition seeks to ensure student preparation for the rigorous recruiting process and a subsequent investment banking division internship. Topics covered include corporate valuation basics, financial statement analysis, economic research fundamentals, M&A modeling, and pitch deck composition.
